Directions:

Soy Lecithin Powder (2500 mg)
SOURCE GREENS contains a special oil free powdered lecithin from non-GMO soybeans containing 97% phosphatides. Each serving contains 615 mg of phosphatidylcholine, a powerful fat emulsifying compound that is present in every cell in the body. Phosphatidylcholine solubilises fats and cholesterol in the blood stream, solubilises dietary fats in the intestinal mucosa and maintains structural integrity of cell membranes. Phosphatidylcholine is a source of choline, a B-complex factor with powerful lipotropic activity that plays a vital role in brain neurotransmission. Organic Spirulina, Blue Green Algae (2200 mg)
Spirulina is the most famous of the blue-green algae for good reason. It is one of the most nutritious foods known, containing up to 65% highly digestible protein. It is one of the highest food sources of vitamin B12, contains up to 10 times more beta carotene per gram than carrots, and along with Kamut, alfalfa and barley juice, is one of the richest sources of chlorophyll. High Pectin Apple Fibre (1200 mg)
Apple fibre is a rich source of pectin, a gel forming polysaccharide with strong antibacterial and fungicidal properties which has been shown to lower cholesterol levels in humans. Pectin controls the motility and absorption of nutrients from the gut by forming a gel around the food particles, increasing the viscosity of the stomach contents and creating a sensation of ‘being full’. Pectin interferes with the action of digestive enzymes and thus slows the rate at which sugar and fat enters the blood stream, eventually increasing the amount of faecal bulk passing through the large intestine.

Organic Green Kamut Grass Juice Powder (500 mg)
Kamut is an heirloom, non-hybrid ancient grain from the Nile region of Egypt, which has never been crossbred. Kamut contains 29% more protein, 27% more lipids and measures higher in 8 of the 9 minerals found in common wheat, including magnesium (23% higher) and zinc (25% higher). Kamut contains more riboflavin, thiamine and niacin than common wheat, and it is significantly higher in vitamin E and chlorophyll. Of the 18 amino acids usually found in wheat, 16 are higher in Kamut including threonine, cystine, arginine, aspartic acid and serine (from 34% to 65% higher). In a study that compared 40 fresh fruits and vegetables, researchers at the USDA Human Nutrition Center ranked blueberries first in antioxidant activity. Antioxidants are important because they counteract free-radicals in our system. Free-radicals are produced by the body during the metabolic process; they oxygenate healthy cells, breaking them down. This degenerative process can lead to cancer or other age related diseases. A study at Tufts University in Boston into the potential of blueberries to reverse short-term memory loss pronounced the blueberry to be "a very powerful food in the ageing battle".

Brown Rice Bran (500 mg)
Brown rice bran is an excellent sources of gamma-oryzanol (esters of ferulic acid), a potent antioxidant within plant cells. Gamma-oryzanol has been found effective in lowering blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Brown rice bran is also an excellent sources of both soluble and insoluble dietary fibres. Dietary fibres help to bind bile acids, lower blood cholesterol, increase satiety after eating, increase faecal weight and volume, decrease transit time of food through the colon, and decrease insulin response after a carbohydrate meal. Acerola, also known as West Indian Cherry, have been used in the Caribbean and in South American as an alternative medicine for strengthening the immune system, fighting infections, and helping heal open wounds. It is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, with its powerful free radical scavenging abilities, as well as carotene, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, proteins and mineral salts, principally iron, calcium and phosphorus. Acerola is often used as a remedy against flu and colds

The vitamin C in Acerola helps the body make collagen, a tough, fibrous protein that is key to making connective tissue and skin, and that also plays a role in wound healing. Vitamin C also protects the body from free radicals, cell-damaging molecules that contribute to the development of cancer, heart disease, and many other diseases.

Because the body does not manufacture or store vitamin C and bioflavonoids, they must be replenished on a regular basis. Annual crop rotations and the fact that the crops are mineralized by the seasonal run-off from the surrounding hills assure maximum nutrition in each harvest. The leaves of the young grasses are harvested at the pre-jointing stage, when their nutrient density is at its peak, then rinsed, juiced and dried ‘on site’ at only 88 degrees F., to yield a product that retains the ‘live’ qualities of the vitamins, minerals and enzymes.   3. SOURCE GREENS uses Green Kamut® grass juice powder. Compared to wheat grass, which is used in many other green-food formulas, Green Kamut® is 25% richer in protein, 10% higher in beta carotene, 90% higher in potassium, 148% higher in calcium, 50% higher in iron and possesses 49% higher antioxidant activity. Kamut is also less allergenic than wheat or wheat grass and is usually tolerated by those with wheat allergies.   4. SOURCE GREENS uses the far more costly grass juice powders rather than just the powdered plant. Grass juice powders from the tender green leaves of Kamut, alfalfa, barley and oats are substantially more nutrient dense than just the dried plant, which still contains most of the inert fibre.

SOURCE GREENS is one of the few whole-food formulas packaged in appropriate containers to prevent cross-contamination (Glass and PETE are the only containers suitable to store live foods with enzyme activity).
